Think those modifications will do the trick, no expert on electric (or anything for that matter😊) but as I understand it the exit area needs to exheed the intake area.

After the ESC fail with my Lidl EDF build someone suggested that because of the P factor my scoop behind the prop wouldn't be very efficient. I don't know? He also mentioned that fact that manufacturers put heat shrink around esc's doesn't help. Good point. I uprated to a 40A but have exposed the aluminium by taking a blade to the shrink and it's fitted outside in the airflow now. Doesn't look as pretty but who can see it, yours is inside anyway! Should be more efficient anyway?

Stiff whisky when you got home Cliff ? Looks very promising. Thought about installing a gyro in it to make it easier to fly ? I imagine the full size would have been a handful to fly too !

Should run cool enough as it is now. You could enlarge prop adapter hole to admit more cooling air. A smaller diameter prop would help reduce amp draw, and heat, if you can afford some thrust reduction. Increasing exhaust outlet size , to let more hot air out, may be needed. I fried the motor and plastic motor mount in my Dynam WACO doing aerobatics on really hot days.

Very elegant solution with the vents in the bottom. The spoon idea is really nice. You mention you want air outlet, but wouldn't you also need more air inlet? Hopefully with the two vents you should get enough air circulating in and around the esc. Thx for sharing!

lol, we made the same mistake! got mine a few days ago, built it and maidened it, but realised THE DUCT IS OFF CENTER apparently we werent supposed to glue it to the side panel XD

Magic wheels - great job Cliff. One suggestion for the collet - if you put a drop of CA on the thread you are doing up (medium CA gives you a bit more working time) the collet will stay tight as the "screw" will not back out no matter how much vibration it experiences. PVA glue works as well just takes longer to set.

Cliff thanks for the video - I had seen wing bags like this before but had no idea how to make them. After watching the video for wing bags my thoughts will be to allow a bit more on the open end (so push the end of the wing in further and not cut so much off). Then do what you did and cut the top piece flush with the edge of the wing to allow the bottom flap to fold over the wing. I will then take the cutoff bit (same width/length as the flap) and trim it to say 1" (25mm - will need to experiment) wide and turn it upside down and seal it to the edge of the flap so the edge of the flap is silver both sides. This will allow me to put velcro dots on the top of the wing bag and the edge of the flap to close the wing bag. I hope this makes sense as I can see it clearly in my mind but putting it in words is more difficult.

I've made my own recently using the same material, but using tape and staples for sealing. Melting the foam to itself to join the seams is genius. Well done 👏

Mix some right rudder in with throttle, that’ll help you appreciate what the wing is doing in flight without having to deal with torque. Fly in a straight line and go from idle to max power, and if she yaws, nix more rudder in until she keeps on straight regardless of what power you set. Then fly it in an straight line and use your ailerons to see if you need to mix rudder in to cancel adverse yaw. When in a spin or a spiral dive. Using rudder to recover is much better than ailerons,which actually make matters worse. Nice model. Enjoy your flying

"Got away with it" a well used phrase in aeromodelling 😂😂. Tripe must have been well built nonetheless. I always "cheat" with rudder mix on mine and scramble to find the switch if i don't 😊. Well done again Clifff!

Nicely done. Check for a slight warp in one or more wings for that leftward tendency.
